The day of 16th Dec 1773 is considered to be the most revolutionary day in the history of America. The entire shipment carrying imported tea was destroyed at Boston. This event was the start of the American war of Independence. This event is known as Boston Tea Party which was against British Colonialism and the violation of the right of "No taxation without representation.”Many Stamps and coins were released on many occasions to celebrate this spirit of Independence. On the 200th year of the incident many commemorative coins with higher denomination were issued depicting the scene of the event. US also issued se-tenant set of four stamps with the denomination of 8 cents together making one scene of the Boston Tea Party.
